1/7/2023 0 Comments Soap opera network tumblrThe fifth season basically just let us know they were still together, with little scenes like in Juggernaut or Someone to Watch Over Me. Fourth season, from Hunters to Extreme Risk, was all about them fighting (and their physical chemistry is off in that season, I think mostly due to Dawson’s pregnancy). Next, I’m a fan of how they portrayed the Tom and B’Elanna relationship in this episode and this season. As an aside, I’m no Harry Kim fan, but I do enjoy him in these little scenes with Tom and/or B’Elanna. I like how it’s only in B’Elanna’s head that Harry Kim has a pair. You hit your head harder than you thought.” I love this as a companion scene to Displaced, when B’Elanna asks Harry if he thinks she is hostile, although this time he is not afraid of her. When she won’t give it up, Harry says, “Hey, I’ve got one for you. For example when Harry and B’Elanna are in Engineering checking out the piece of metal that B’Elanna swears was bleeding and cursing in Klingon. There are a lot of ‘little scenes’ I like in this episode. In short, the pacing is great, the story is different and interesting, Dawson is wonderful (as usual), we get some character development and resolution, the Tom and B’Elanna stuff is well done, everything but the gates of Gre’thor look cool, and this episode can be analyzed on a ton of different levels.įirst, a surface level review. In case you had not noticed, B’Elanna is my favorite character on Voyager and I think this is her best episode (with Faces as a close second). “Tell me what you want me to be! A good Starfleet officer? A good Maquis? Lover? Daughter? Just tell me what you want from me!” In which it turns out Voyager really is hell. Well, you may have noticed I have been sucking at writing my P/T Voyager reviews, so here is an analysis I wrote for Barge of the Dead (for another purpose…) that I thought I would stick up here.
